CLINICAL MANAGER, OPTIONS Program

We have an immediate opening for the position of Clinical Manager with the OPTIONS, Planning and Supports for Inclusive Living in the Building Inclusive Communities Unit at Family Service Toronto.
The OPTIONS Program supports adults and children with intellectual disabilities and their families. Our model in cludes three areas of work: clinical supports, community development activities and prevention initiatives. We facilitate person-directed planning and access to generic and specialized services as necessary; and we provide supportive counselling, service coordination, and individual advocacy. Through community development activities we promote inclusion and actively look for community participation opportunities for the people we support. Through educational and mutual support groups we encourage self-determination and help to develop life and self advocacy skills.
Reporting to the Director, Building Inclusive Communities, the Clinical Manager will
- be responsible for the management of the above-stated areas of our work, ensuring the most effective involvement of staff, and the best use of resources in the delivery of services within the program mandate.
- provide leadership in ensuring accessible, respectful and effective service that reflects FST’s commitment to anti-oppression, and will create and maintain an environment in which staff can participate and deliver high quality service that is responsive to the needs of diverse communities.
- be highly sensitive to individual and community needs, must be committed to a value system that recognizes the inherent worth and uniqueness of all individuals and their right to full inclusion, autonomy and self determination, and must have a demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders in a variety of sectors.
- Strong participatory leadership and communication skills are essential.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MSW or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum five years managerial and relevant clinical experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the bio/psycho/social impact of intellectual disabilities
- Demonstrated strong program/ systems management skills
- Well developed understanding of participatory management practice
- Demonstrated experience in building services across varied ethno-racial and linguistic communities
- Computer literacy, experience in a Windows-based environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
