Privacy & Accountability

FSA Toronto does its utmost to merit public trust and respect. More than 86% of your donation to FSA Toronto makes a direct impact on the lives of some of Toronto's most vulnerable citizens.

We adhere to the Donor's Bill of Rights and the Ethical Fundraising Accountability Code of Imagine Canada.

Your privacy is important to us. We collect the contact information you provide us with in order to communicate with you and/or to process your financial contributions and issue your tax receipt. We do not keep credit card information in our files. All other information is securely kept in our database and we do not share, rent or trade lists of donors with any other organizations.

In communicating with and recognizing donors, we make every effort to ensure names are listed correctly. Please contact us immediately if you need to report any errors or omissions by telephone at 416-595-9230 ext. 237 or e-mail theresasi@fsatoronto.com. We will immediately update our records.

We are equally committed to being accountable to donors and the public. We invite you to download our annual report for financial and anecdotal information about how we carry out our mission. The following resources many be useful in answering broader questions you may have about philanthropy, fundraising and being a donor in Canada :

Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), Charities Division, an agency of the federal government, registers qualifying organizations as charities, gives technical advice on operating a charity, and handles audit and compliance activities.

Imagine Canda is a national charitable organization dedicated to supporting organizations, businesses and people work even more closely together to make Canada a better place with stronger, more vibrant communities. Imagine Canada represents the alliance between the Canadian Centre or Philanthropy (CCP) and the Coalition of National Voluntary Organizations (NVO). 

The Association of Fundraising Professionals represents 25,000 members in 161 chapters in Canada, the United States, and Mexico working to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education, and certification programs. The FSA Manager of Development is an AFP member.
