Our Future: FSA Strategic Planning

In the spring of 2004, FSA Toronto held a series of consultations with members of Toronto communities and staff to assist in our long-term strategic planning. Our goal was to bring together Torontonians with various backgrounds and diverse views: people who know us well and people who are less familiar with our work.
FSA invited participation from a broad invitation list of over 700 community agencies, ethno-specific groups, coalitions, funders, businesses, politicians, donors, members, staff & volunteers.
An initial outreach letter and follow-up invitation to specific sessions yielded 215 participants for consultations held in Scarborough, Rexdale and four downtwon locations. Together we identified possible new directions to create lasting, positive change.
Our Strategic Planning Task Force of board volunteers, staff and community members compiled and reviewed the discussion notes from the various consultations as well as information gathered through an FSA workplace survey and two Futures Seminars conducted this fall. The common themes from all of these sessions have informed our Strategic Directions document, posted here on our website.
At the beginning of November 2004 the draft Strategic Directions report was posted on this website and opened for comment by all who visited the site. The visitors' on-line feedback was completely anonymous and all relevant suggestions were incorporated into the draft.
FSA Board of Directors approved the final Strategic Directions document in November 2004.
