Campaign 2000

Campaign 2000, as part of FSA’s Social Reform Unit, is a cross-Canada network of over 85 Canadian organizations committed to the 1989 House of Commons resolution to end child poverty in Canada by the year 2000.

Income Security Advocacy Centre

The Income Security Advocacy Centre was established in 2001 by Legal Aid Ontario to serve low income Ontarians by conducting test case and Charter litigation relating to provincial and federal income security programs. ISAC’s legal work deals with law reform, public legal education and community development.

Pay the Rent, Feed the Kids

The Pay the Rent and Feed the Kids campaign is an effort to challenge the Ontario provincial government to raise social assistance rates to reflect the actual cost of living.

Welfare Incomes

Welfare Incomes is also a report by the National Council of Welfare, which estimates the incomes of typical welfare recipients in each province and territory for four family types. Also included are comparisons with the poverty lines and average incomes, and data on welfare incomes as far back as 1986.
