Counselling Services

At Family Service Association of Toronto, we offer a supportive and confidential environment. Our skilled, professional counsellors can help you explore and understand your problem, and support you to develop solutions. Your counsellor can also tell you what to expect from counselling, including an estimate of how much time you'll need to devote to it and the kinds of changes you may experience.

Through counselling, we can help you learn:

  • better communication with partners, children or parents
  • how to understand, cope with and manage a wide range of feelings
  • different ways of solving problems
  • how to build better relationships
  • different ways of coping with stress and depression
  • better community connections and support

The Counselling Service offers individual, marital/couple, family counselling and group programs in English, Spanish and Farsi. Our experienced staff have post graduate degrees in social work or counselling. They have additional training in Solution Focused Therapy and leading edge techniques in the field of energy psychology such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) as well as the COPE parenting group model.

FSA Counselling Service is an approved teaching facility for the University of Toronto Faculty of Social Work.
