Agency-led Coalition Meetings:

Parent Child Network of West Toronto

Meets monthly. Next meeting: Monday November 26, 2:15-4:15 At Toronto Public Health's Crossways Office (Dundas and Bloor).
Meeting agenda includes: group discussion about Next Steps with regards to EDI information/planning (first part of the meeting); the Report on Settlement Service Planning Project; and updates on the Perinatal Workgroup, Teen Parents and Parents for Action Now.

Action for Children Today and Tomorrow (ACTT)

General membership meeting is held quarterly. For more information, contact Susan Neal at 416-392-1750 or Shawna Scale at 416-686-3390.
The next general meeting will be on December 4th from 1:00 – 3:00. The topic of discussion and location will be announce later.

  • GUHD Strategic Planning 2007/08: December 7, 2007GUHDnet, GUHD Management and students will meet for a half day review and planning session at Family Service Association of Toronto 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. 3rd Annual
  • Holiday Party at the Eaton Centre: December 9, 2007
    Families from all around Toronto will join together for an evening of food, play and gifts. 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Going Green at the GRANGE FESTIVAL
    This year the Festival took place on July 27 at Grange and Butterfield parks. Over 300 families and individuals attended the activities.
    The event was sponsored by University Settlement in cooperation with Growing Up Healthy Downtown, The Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto Public Health, The Fairlawn Neighbourhood Centre, Ontario College of Art and Design, Toronto Police Services – 52 Division and the Emergency Task Force, Toronto Fire Services, Canadian Chinese Youth Athletics Association, St. George the Martyr Church, The Clean Air Partnership and the Downtown Grapevine.
  • Annual Strategic Planning Day on November 3, 2006 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Harbourfront Community Centre
  • GUHD has launched the Families Are Important Resources (FAIR) project
    (February 8)
    With funding from Social Development Canada, over the next three years the FAIR project will help disadvantaged parents with children under the age of six to become more engaged in their communities and help build better lives for children.
  • Interim Evaluation Report released (October 17, 2005)
    On September 21, 2005, Growing Up Healthy Downtown released its interim evaluation report on the impact of its programs on the lives of downtown Toronto families.
  • Children's Festival, July 21, 2005 at Grange Park.
    Annual summer event sponsored by by the University Settlement Recreation Centre and GUHD
  • GUHD's 10th anniversary - October 2004, Harbourfront Community Centre
    Celebrating ten years of success and hard work with and for families across downtown Toronto.
