FAMILY PRIDE 2007
Join Family Pride for a rich and exciting lineup of events to make
both the Saturday and the Sunday of Pride Week a time that you will
not want to miss!
Proudly supported by Procter & Gamble, Family
Pride is an oasis and destination for families of all kinds. It provides
a space for families to
enjoy Pride Week with inclusive, family-oriented activities and entertainment. Family
Pride is open from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Saturday June 23 and Sunday,
June 24.
The festivities kick-off Saturday morning with the annual LGBT Parenting Network's Family Pride Picnic at 11am (BYOPicnic, and we'll provide drinks and snacks). Fuel up before joining Dykes Planning Tykes as the honoured group in the Dyke March (We will be gathering at Church and Hayden at 1:30 pm). Take a ride on Via Rail's Mini-Express train, dance to the beat with FitGroove Inc and check out an exciting performance by Sho, Mo and the Monkey Bunch.
On Sunday, get ready for the parade! Start
your Sunday morning at the Family Pride Brunch, brought
to you by the Queer
Parenting Programmes of
The 519. Hop around in the Bouncy Castle, get
crafty in the Creative Corner and check out a thrilling performance
by the Samba Squad.

FAMILY PRIDE NEEDS VOLUNTEERS!
We need 12-15 people willing to do a 4-hour shift (10 - 2; 2 - 6) in the Family Pride area on Saturday and/or Sunday. In particular we need someone who loves food to coordinate the purchase and delivery of snacks for the Saturday picnic and the Sunday brunch. We also need volunteers to greet people when they arrive, to say goodbye when they leave, to sit at information tables, and to help serve food. We are hoping to provide volunteers with free food vouchers.
For
those who have been to Family Pride in previous years, you know it
is one of the more pleasant Pride hang-out spots. Please help
us make this year an incredible success by considering volunteering. If
you are interested, please contact: Chris
Veldhoven, 416 392 6878, ext. 109; queerparenting@the519.org.
Thanks!
