New Directions Support Groups for Separated/Divorced Women

Women experiencing a life transition can take control of their lives. New Directions support groups provide a safe and supportive environment for learning effective ways of dealing with the dramatic changes that often accompany the loss of an intimate partner.

Participants are encouraged to explore new ways of relating to themselves and the world around them. The group model uses principles of self help. Participants will benefit from emotional and practical support along with opportunities for learning and sharing successful coping strategies.

This 8 week support group is lead by two trained and supervised facilitators who have also experienced the loss of a partner through separation or divorce.

Topics Include :

  • Learning about the grieving process
  • Exploring issues of separation and loss
  • Developing a new sense of personal identity
  • Making changes for the future
