Program details

The Seniors and Caregivers Support Service Unit at Family Service Association of Toronto offers training workshops for seniors' groups, the general public and service providers on a variety of areas. 

Workshops cost:
For seniors and the public: Free
For service providers: Fees are based on an hourly rate and will be negotiated to meet individual circumstances.

Gaining Strength: Sharing Stories

A Group for Women 50+

  • Meet others and know that you are not alone.
  • Tell your story in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Learn strategies for emotional safety and self care.
  • Learn about abuse, vulnerability and difficult relationships.
  • Focus on creating healthy relationships with others.
  • Make a plan to move on with life.

Through the ages and across generations and cultures, abuse maintains its hold on the lives of many. Sharing our stories, we discover in each other how the cycle works, and cultivate ways to loosen its grip.

When:Tuesday afternoons, April 1 to May 27
Time: 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.

Workshop offered by Family Service Association of Toronto in partnership with Scarborough Bluffs United Church Outreach.

Challenge of Anger Workshop

Family Service Association of Toronto’s Violence Against Women Program (Family Violence and Community Support Unit) is offering a Five-Session Education Workshop for all women who are interested in learning more about anger and its impact on family relationships. Sessions will explore the range of anger, styles of expression, as well as look at assertive, non-violent ways of managing it.

When: Wednesday evenings, starting April 2
Time: 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Location: Scarborough
Cost: No fee - donations welcome to cover the cost of materials
