CIBC Holiday Hamper Program 2004
Post date: October 27, 2004
The December holiday season is a very joyous time of celebration for many people…a time for family gatherings, festive meals, gift exchanges, vacations, anticipation of great things to come in the New Year…a happy time.
Many of our clients, however, find themselves very alone, distressed and without hope for this holiday.
Their concerns arise from not knowing how to provide their families with the most basic necessities needed to go through the winter seaso, such as warm clothing and boots. Parents wonder how they can bring a spark of joy to their children’s faces with a gift of a brand new toy, when they need to put food on the table.
You can help!
The Holiday Hamper Program depends totally on community members to adopt our clients by filling their WISH LISTS.
While each WISH LIST is based on the needs of particular families and individuals, they typically include such items as:
- grocery store certificates
- winter clothing
- boots
- toys
- small household items, i.e. towels, bed linen, pots and pans, etc. and
- TTC passes.
Community members can select the family size they would like to support and in some cases, hamper delivery can be made by the donor to the family home. In 2004, we anticipate receiving 200 requests for holiday assistance from our client families and individuals.
Holiday Hampers should be completed by December 10, 2004!
Employee groups, individuals, clubs and families can participate by:
- deciding to adopt one or more families and individuals
- making a financial contribution
- organizing and running: a non-perishable food drive, kitchen utensil drive, bed linen & towel drive, etc.
- delivering Holiday Hampers
