Thank you to FSA volunteers - open letter
Dear FSA Volunteers,

National Volunteer Week, held this year from April 27 to May 3, 2008, is an annual celebration of the 11.8 million Canadians who donate their time, talents and energy to enrich the lives of their community. This year’s theme – “Volunteers. From Compassion to Action ” – truly reflects the passion and dedication you, our volunteers, bring to the work you do to help us fulfill our mission to strengthen families and individuals in just and supportive communities.
Founded by volunteers in 1914, FSA has a long and rich history of volunteer involvement that continues to this day. Volunteers are engaged in almost every aspect of our work and can be found in most departments throughout the agency. Whether providing direct service to clients, organizing events, working to raise much-needed funds for our programs, providing administrative support to help our staff serve our clients more effectively, or sharing expertise, knowledge and leadership skills on our Board of Directors, committees and community advisory councils, your contributions are essential to the effective delivery of our programs. Without your assistance, we would be hard-pressed to deliver the quality of service for which FSA is known.
This year, we asked our staff to let you know how your volunteer work enhances our programs. We invite you to visit our National Volunteer Week web page at http://www.fsatoronto.com/volunteer/volunteerweek.html, where their comments have been posted.
As we continue to adapt our programs to meet the increasingly diverse needs of our city’s people, we would like to extend a special thank you for your dedication and for sharing your wealth of knowledge and skills to augment the services we deliver. Thank you, FSA Volunteers, for your ongoing commitment to FSA and the people of Toronto.
Best wishes,
Anita Lapidus
