On December 1, 2005, Family Service Association of Toronto kicked off its first winter Membership and Fundraising Campaign, which will last until February 28, 2005.

During the campaign the agency hopes to increase its membership by 20 per cent.

"Members give FSA a stronger voice at policy tables," says Laurel Rothman, FSA's Director of Social Reform and National Coordinator for the Campaign 2000 initiative. "FSA stands for inclusive communities that are free of violence and poverty. When we are pushing for policies based in social justice, it is important to be able to say 'we represent all of these members who share our same desire for stronger communities'."

As FSA counts down to our 100th anniversary in 2014, increasing membership significantly is an important way to recognize this milestone. "There are very few organizations that can say they have been part of Toronto for as long as FSA has. To reach the century mark is a real testament to the work of FSA staff and volunteers over the years, and to the members who have helped keep the agency strong and vibrant. A $25 membership fee is a small price to pay to be part of history," says Alec Kaminsky who is coordinating the Winter Campaign.

All donations automatically add you to FSA's Circle of Change – the network of engaged individuals and organizations that envision a city in which everyone is able to participate to their fullest ability and recognize FSA's role in moving Toronto closer to that reality. The fundraising campaign launched with a direct mail campaign to former donors. "We are encouraging our past donors to continue their relationship with FSA Toronto by donating again over the next three month. We’re also reaching out to new donors. With the holiday season upon us, it's the ideal time to give a meaningful gift—the gift of change—on behalf of a friend, family member or colleague," says Kaminsky.

More activities are planned to encourage community members to get involved in FSA Toronto. If you would like to become a member or donate to FSA Toronto, click here or visit the Get Involved section of this website.
